Illinois, as the largest markets in the Midwest and home to more than two thousand corporate headquarters, a vibrant business scene, and more than 1.2 million small-scale businesses, offers all of the assets global businesses require to succeed in today's competitive business. From world-class infrastructure which connects companies to customers and suppliers to highly skilled workforce across various industries and a thriving manufacturing base - Illinois leads in many areas such as advanced and clean energy, agribusiness, IT life sciences, transportation logistics.

Illinois has witnessed a significant international investment growth in recent years. Countries such as Britain, Japan, Germany and China were among the countries that most investing in Illinois and by 2023, this sum was greater than USD $13.2 billion in manufacturing, agribusiness and other industries in Illinois all by itself.



Since 2014, over $1 billion in incentives were distributed under Illinois' Reimagining Energy and Vehicles program to businesses that offer electric vehicles and renewable energy production. Last month, DCEO also granted PsiQuantum Manufacturing with an incentive package of more than $200 million to build a state-of-the-art facility located in East Alton.



Governor JB Pritzker was joined by representatives from Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network and local officials today in Chicago to inaugurate CZ Biohub Chicago - a cutting-edge research hub at the forefront of leading scientific research. The initiative will bring together University of Chicago, Urbana-Champaign State University (UIUC) and Northwestern University researchers to study human tissue development as well and develop revolutionary therapies.



Governor JB Pritzker and Yrp Press Release (Speedrun.Com) Flender Corporation recently announced they are expanding their current production facility located in Elgin and will create 50 full-time employment while keeping 140 existing full-time positions intact.



The Illinois Small Business Development Center at Southern Illinois University is funded in part through a cooperative arrangement between U.S. Small Business Administration, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Southern Illinois University. The Center provides entrepreneurs in the area with support for the creation or expansion of their businesses through services such as free workshops on business planning individual counseling sessions with expert Business Advisors and access to financing opportunities.



State officials in Indiana are pushing employers to offer better compensation and benefits as method of keeping child care employees in the United States as they face a shortage of employment. This follows the closure of a child care center located in Bronzeville which was struggling to retain employees.



Illinois Department of Labor also has launched an online tool to educate small businesses on labor laws. Employers are able to search using keywords or browse through categories on this site, and connect to the appropriate state agencies and resources.



Illinois Business Development Authority (IBDA) is taking steps to increase awareness about Illinois tax incentives to business expansion. The IBDA hosted an online webinar on the subject. It was recorded. The webinar will later be archived on their website.
