Norwegian club Fredrikstad FK has announced the signing of 16 year old Swedish-Nigerian central defender Kennedy Okpaleke, beating top teams from Italy, Sweden, Denmark, and Germany to secure his signature. Okpaleke joins Fredrikstad on a contract running until 2027, leaving Swedish fourth-tier club Lindome GIF.

Okpaleke had trials with clubs such as IFK Göteborg, Empoli, and Hellas Verona before deciding on Fredrikstad FK. Speaking about his decision, he highlighted the high training levels and competitive quality of the Norwegian club.
