World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it can increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats improve in value. The value is the sum of all of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is because of how many perks must be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

It is also used as a gating requirement when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use, since PvP is limited at a lower level. The average item level can be found on the character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell equipment, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a useful indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it's capable of dealing with. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor can be done by using the item level.

On PC, you are able to check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a variety of theories on the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the level is a number that comes from a formula that calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that various perks have different value, and also that sockets have gems that increase the overall value of the item. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is often very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.

However, this is not the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, as the level of the area the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, such as by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The item's stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in different ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats of a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat mods which are then increased by the player's skill.

The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.

Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. The affixes are used to give items extra damage or special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs), or to differentiate them by putting a name on them.

All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu and pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.

Players can upgrade an item with specific stats or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, but every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the range, unless it is a unique item or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.

This is another aspect that can be modified by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to enhance. Like the base equipment, this would have to be done per item and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the intensity of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is particularly advantageous for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each new level of item. It is also possible to be enhanced by using anti-materials, such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to increase the Luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any ability that deals damage by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shops or made using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are a costly process and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an Best item upgrade in the event that the upgrade fails.

The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The chance of success can only be increased by so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The success of an item upgrade is also affected by the luck of that item. Every item has an average success rate of 25% and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects can be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader - click here to read, CORE client config.
