It is effective in cleaning pet hair, crumbs and dust on hard floors, but it is not as efficient as the top models in terms of cleaning up carpets of flour. In our tests, it failed to pick up 74% of the powder on hard floors and 26% of the powder on carpet.

A feature that makes the G30 Edge stand out is its ability to map your home's layout using an electronic map that is available in the app. This allows it to keep track of which rooms it has already cleaned, and to avoid returning to these rooms. This is a major issue for robots that are more basic and need the old-fashioned magnetic taps to define no-go zones.

The side brush scatters large cereal particles that stick to the floor instead of sweeping. It also had a hard time collecting table salt on bare flooring, as many grains were slid across the floor.
