When an item is improved, its base type will change. The upgrade of a normal item will result in an item that is Exceptional while upgrading an item that is Exceptional will result in an elite version of the base item. The item level upgrade will keep its previous upgrade stats, but will receive an additional bonus of its new base type. This bonus will be randomly chosen from the following options: an opportunity to acquire weapons with a greater damage range or Best item upgrader an increased reload speed or a chance to acquire an improved defense roll.
The amount of upgrades you make will determine the amount of extras you get. Each upgrade will boost the extras by three points maximum. Each upgrade will also increase the stats of the main game by +1.
In addition to the stat boosts Certain upgrades can give a random secondary boost. These boosts are extremely beneficial and should be considered when deciding which items to upgrade. Certain of these boosts may only be used in specific builds (such the Whistan's Shield, which is for FB Sorcs) While others are useful to collectors.
Certain items come with a built-in boos which is less beneficial when upgraded. For instance the Goldwrap has an extra slots for potion. These are usually upgraded to add value to a near-perfect or perfect item.
Costs
There are a few expenses associated with item upgrades. The first is the upgrade itself. This cost depends on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it gains and is often expensive. It can also be expensive to upgrade an item to a higher tier (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).
The second is the cost of items needed to upgrade. The items used are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and up) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable through completing specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The amount of these items needed can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.
It takes time to upgrade an item. Depending on the size of the upgrade, it can take up to 8 hours. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated based on the item's new ilvl, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, as well as other vital statistics. In some instances the upgrade can grant additional benefits that can be chosen from a list of available advantages.
Rarely, the new benefits acquired will cost more than one perk slot to acquire In these instances, the upgrade will only replace the perks with the highest cost. The upgrader can also make other adjustments to the item, for example, changing its weapon damage type or removing an operative or unwieldy feature. These modifications are based on the item's ilvl and may require special materials, like the adamantine.
Success Rate
The process of upgrading an item is based on the chance. Like any random system there is a chance that it won't work. There are a number of ways to increase your chances of success. This includes the use of an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of extra materials to your upgrade.
An Upgrade Pity is an item you can buy from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the odds of an upgrade being successful by a certain percentage. It's similar to the "luck bonus" that some items offer, but it is more secure. It can be added to any armor or weapon, and can be used up to three times.
You can also add additional materials to the upgrade to increase the chance of success. These are shown in a separate window, above the + button. There are a few limitations. The maximum amount of material you can upload is shown directly above the + button.
Another method to increase the odds of an upgrade achieving success is to use the item known as a Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is beneficial if you have an item or weapon gear that has reached the maximum level for its tier or is close to it. This item lets you upgrade item the equipment to the next level without the risk of breaking.
If an upgrade fails, the system will be returned to its original condition. This is typically an error, but it could also be an upgrade. You should save an upgrade until you're close to the highest level for an item.
There are several items in the Kafra shop that can be used to boost the chances of an upgrade succeeding. You can increase your chances of success by upgrading equipment repeatedly using HD Oridecon and HD Elunium. Similarly, enhancing the chance to receive a Double Mint from Shoe-Minting a maximum of five times will increase the success rate.
Failure Rate
The item upgrader allows players to add a second slot on their equipment. These slots can be used to apply an enchantment or upgrade an item. However, it is important to note that not all items can be upgraded. The enchantment and upgrade rate depends on the item's rank. The higher the rank of an item, the more Zeny and items are required to upgrade it.
This system can be very expensive, particularly for high-end equipment. It could cost as high as 100,000 Z and 100 Carnium to upgrade a weapon or armor. As you rise in rank, the chance of success decreases. You can increase the likelihood of upgrading an item using cash shop items.
Normal Upgrade is the most basic upgrade that can be done on weapons, armor pieces and bicycles. It uses different core grades based on the type of item. In general, lower-grade items require cheaper cores while higher-grade ones require more expensive cores.
To perform an upgrade that is normal you must first have the appropriate number of cores. Once you have them then click the button next to the item upgrade that you want to upgrade. The upgrade window will show a percentage indicator of your chances of success. The percentage is based on the upgrade level and core nature of the product you have selected.
You can also select an item that is protected by a safeguard your equipment in the event of failure. The cost of this protection will differ but will always be less expensive than the cost of a new Best item upgrader. The safeguard can only be used only once per upgrade and will not expire until used again.
The interface for the item level upgrade upgrader is a little confusing, but isn't impossible to navigate. The main menu is visible on the left and the upgrade window is displayed on the right. The arrows on the left side of the UI represent the various phases of the upgrade process. Click the question mark icon to get assistance if you're not sure what you're doing. The upgrade process can take as long as five minutes.
